Kissui Shrine(吉水神社), also known as Yoshimizu Shrine, is a historic Shinto shrine with origins dating back to the 8th century. Originally founded as a temple for Shugendo mountain worship practitioners, it was converted to a shrine during the Meiji Period. Kissui Shrine(吉水神社) has significant historical importance, having served as a temporary Imperial Palace for Emperor Go-Daigo's Southern Court and hosting famous figures like Toyotomi Hideyoshi for cherry blossom viewing parties.
