Chikurinin Gunpoen(竹林院群芳園) is a historic 1,300-year-old temple-turned-ryokan that was originally established as Tsubakiyama Temple by Prince Shotoku in the 7th century. The property features a stunning 300-year-old garden designed by tea master Sen-no-Rikyu, which is one of the Three Gardens of Yamato. The ryokan has hosted numerous notable guests including Emperor Hirohito and famous Japanese writers. The property combines traditional Japanese architecture with modern amenities across 55 Japanese-style rooms.
